I used Speaktionary and found it to be an excellent tool to support a variety of learners. This would be a great tool for any classroom and has the capacity to enhance student learning on many levels. Students can’t independently seek the proper spelling and definition for words in the classroom. Teachers are provided with another strategy to support student learning. The dual language function is excellent and reflects the Canadian context.

The fact that my child doesn’t have to constantly ask me how to spell words is huge in our household homework world! Both my children are in French Immersion programs and this website is a total game changer. It has all the vocabulary for both Science and Social Studies for grades 1-6.

This has been great for special needs students because many of them have issues with spelling and vocabulary acquisition skills. Speaktionary allows them to easily find the answers to their issues around pronunciation of a specific word, as well as its spelling.

Speaktionary has helped my students with spelling words correctly in French and English, understanding their meaning and seeing an example so they know how the word can be used in a sentence.

Fantastic learning program for all ages. It provides not only the translation of the word but the definition and the word used in a sentence in both languages as well.

This app is very simple for kids to use on their own. I love the pictures too, perfect for the little ones!
